vykr In 1977 at 15yrs old this was so way out there i didn't even know if it was music. It is music but, at 60, i still don't know how to describe it. And that is why i always heartily recomend it to people. Favorite track: SS Cygni.

Source Invisible I've loved Chrome for years so am a bit ashamed of how long it's taken me to get around to listening to this one! It's one of those albums you can definitely get lost in, a full 'journey' kind of vibe going on. Raw and surreal psyche-punk at it's finest and one of Chrome's best in my opinion. Favorite track: The Stars Of Ours (Planet 14 Part 2).

John Cratchley The next ship that NASA sends out of the Solar System for exploration needs to include this...
Defies definition but demands inclusion in any serious exploration of music, I think...listening without preconceptions might be best. 1977 going on 2077.

Bart Furp Alien Soundtracks was originally released in 1977. I didn't hear it till 1980 or so but I remember the first-listen mind-boggle very well. Back then, Damon Edge and Helios Creed were indeed sonic aliens, transmitting to unprepared, helpless earthlings.

This package includes the 1988-released "Alien Soundtracks 2" (which I didn't even know existed) as a bonus. Favorite track: Pygmies in Zee Park.

about

Chrome San Francisco, California

Chrome in fine form, with vocalist/keyboardist Damon Edge and vocalist/guitarist Helios Creed creating a restless, moody record that often sounds like Neu! on bad acid (see the dark, frenetic "Eyes on Mars"). A prime example of the San Francisco-based ensemble's late-`70s/early-`80s heyday, this album is essential for Chrome diehards, and should be of interest to industrial aficionados. ... more
